WiFiBOX is a portable Wi-Fi rental service available for same-day pick-up. Pick up and return your WiFiBOX at over 750 locations across Japan, including airports and train stations.
Stay connected throughout your trip in Japanor in around 130 countries and regions worldwide.
Connect your smartphone, laptop, and other devices to the internet wherever you travel.
1Book Your WiFiBOX
Select your rental period, destination, and data plan to book your WiFiBOX.
You can pay by credit card, PayPay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
2Pick Up Your WiFiBOX
Pick up your WiFiBOX at any WiFiBOX location across Japan, even if it’s different from the location selected when booking.
You can also pick up your WiFiBOX up to 2 days before your departure (rental start date).
No advance arrangements or additional fees are required.
Internet access will be available from the departure date (rental start date) selected when booking.
How to Pick Up Your WiFiBOX

3Connect to Wi-Fi
Turn on your WiFiBOX and connect to the internet using the SSID and password.

Turn On Your WiFiBOX
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. The LED on the left will blink for about 1–2 minutes while the device prepares to connect. Wait until it stops blinking. When all three white LED lights are on, your WiFiBOX is ready to connect.
*It may take a few moments before an internet connection is available. The center data LED will blink while data is being transmitted.

Connect to Wi-Fi
Use the SSID and password printed on the back of your WiFiBOX to connect your device to the Wi-Fi network.
4Use as a Power Bank
WiFiBOX comes with built-in charging cables and can also be used as a power bank.

Connect the appropriate built-in cable to your device, then press the charging button to start charging. To stop charging, simply unplug the cable.
*If your WiFiBOX is already turned on, charging will start automatically without pressing the charging button.
5Charge Your WiFiBOX
Your WiFiBOX rental includes the Wi-Fi device only.
Please bring your own USB charger to charge your WiFiBOX.


Support for USB Type-C chargers (3A) is being rolled out.
Please note that some WiFiBOX devices may not yet support USB Type-C charging.
【Important】
*Chargers designed specifically for certain devices, including some Apple chargers, may not work properly with WiFiBOX.
We recommend bringing both USB Type-A and Type-C charging adapters if possible.
*Do not charge your WiFiBOX from a USB charging port or power bank, as this may cause damage.

Charging Method 1: Use the Built-in Charging Cable
Pull out the built-in USB Type-A cable and plug it into your USB charger.
Plug the USB charger into a power outlet to start charging your WiFiBOX.

Charging Method 2: Use a USB Type-C Cable
Connect the USB Type-C port on your WiFiBOX to your own USB Type-A or Type-C charger. Your WiFiBOX is fully charged when all four green indicator lights are on.
*Support for USB Type-C charging (3A) is being rolled out. Please note that some WiFiBOX devices may not yet support USB Type-C charging.

6Return Your WiFiBOX
Return your WiFiBOX at any WiFiBOX location across Japan. You can return it to a different location from the one selected when booking.

Insert your WiFiBOX into an empty slot until you hear a click. Your return is then complete.
After returning your WiFiBOX, make sure you receive a return confirmation email.
If your return is not completed correctly, additional rental charges may apply.
If you do not receive the email or there are no empty slots, please contact Customer Support.

You can book and pick up your WiFiBOX even on the day you need it, subject to availability and the operating hours of the pick-up location.
