Self-service Wi-Fi rental ``WiFiBOX'', which allows you to easily rent mobile Wi-Fi routers without contact, has been installed at 15 stores of the electronics retailer ``EDION'' and has started service. This will be the first time that WiFiBOX will be introduced to a home electronics retail store.
With this installation, WiFi BOX will be installed in a total of 138 facilities and 148 locations. We will continue to proactively install these systems throughout the city, including stations and commercial facilities, with the aim of further improving convenience for our customers.

Installation background
EDION is a large electronics retailer that operates mainly in the Kanto region, Kyushu, and Okinawa regions, with a corporate message of "buy with peace of mind and always be satisfied."
With the recovery of inbound tourists, EDION is currently experiencing an increase in the number of customers who come to our stores throughout the city to consult about the communication environment in Japan, and we are offering Wi-Fi rental services for those who are about to install a network at their home. We are seeing a certain amount of demand. We have decided to install WiFi BOX at 15 stores because it is easier for store staff to operate the rental service, and more people can easily use and visit the store than traditional Wi-Fi rentals.
Additionally, this service will now be available in a wide range of areas, including major areas in the Kansai region such as Namba, Shinsaibashi, and central Kyoto, as well as urban areas such as Yokohama, Aichi, and Hiroshima. As the number of stores in the city and within walking distance from stations increases, it will not only be used by inbound tourists, but also for daily use, such as securing a temporary communication environment for business people and tourists, and when there is a shortage of gigabytes at the end of the month. It also makes it easier to use.
