A self-service Wi-Fi rental "WiFiBOX" that allows you to easily rent a mobile Wi-Fi router without contact will be newly installed in the 1st floor lobby of Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo, and the service will start on Friday, December 15, 2023. We would like to inform you that. This is the first Wi-Fi box installed in a hotel facility in the Sapporo area, and the second in Japan following the Keio Plaza Hotel (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), allowing 24-hour pick-up and return.
As a result, WiFi BOX will be installed at 57 facilities and 64 locations in total. We will continue to expand our services domestically, including in Sapporo, and aim to improve convenience for even more customers.

Installation background
Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo opened in 1982 as a landmark in Sapporo, and this year marks 41 years since its opening. The hotel is located approximately 5 minutes' walk from JR Sapporo Station and approximately 10 minutes' walk from Sapporo Subway Station, and there is also a shuttle bus from the hotel to New Chitose Airport, a major station that is the starting point for sightseeing in Sapporo.・Located in a location with high accessibility to the airport. In addition, in the "Jalan Awards 2022" (Jalan OF THE YEAR Great Accommodation Award - Hokkaido area 301 rooms or more category) on Japan's largest travel reservation site "Jalan", we won 1st place in the breakfast category, overall category, and customer service. This facility is highly popular among users and won second place in its category.
WiFiBOX currently provides service at five locations in the Hokkaido area: New Chitose Airport for international and domestic flights, Asahikawa Airport, and Hakodate Airport for domestic and international flights, but this will be the first time it has been installed in Sapporo. The installation at Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo will not only make it available 24 hours a day in the city, but also ensure a temporary communication environment for business people and tourists visiting Sapporo, and allow overseas travelers to pick up their phone before arriving at the airport. We decided to install this system because we thought it would further improve convenience by increasing the number of pick-up locations, such as at the airport.
