Background of Installation

Matsuyama Airport will have approximately 2.21 million passengers in FY2022, which is 195.4% of the FY2021 level, recovering to approximately 75% of the level before the Corona disaster (FY 2019). On March 26, 2023, the number of flights to Seoul resumed with an increase to five round trips per week for the first time in three years, and at the end of October, the number of flights was further increased to daily. In addition, a new flight to Busan began service on November 10, and the use of the airport is expected to increase in the future.
Matsuyama Airport is located in a highly convenient location for sightseeing and return trips, with easy access to major areas, including downtown Matsuyama in about 15 minutes by car and Dogo Onsen, one of Ehime Prefecture's most popular tourist attractions, in about 40 minutes by car. The WiFi box will be available to meet the needs of not only Japanese travelers who connect to Narita and Haneda airports to go overseas, but also inbound foreign travelers, as there is a shortage of gigs at the end of each month for domestic sightseeing, return trips, and business. The WiFi box will be installed to meet the needs of a greater number of inbound foreign tourists as well as Japanese tourists.
