Background of Installation

Toyama Airport will have approximately 250,000 passengers in FY2022, which is 251.3% of the FY2021 level, recovering to about half of the level before the Corona disaster (FY 2019). The airport is expected to see further expansion of its use in the future.
Toyama Airport is a 20-minute drive from downtown Toyama. Tateyama Station, the starting point of the "Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route" connecting Toyama and Nagano, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Toyama Prefecture, is only about 45 minutes away by car, providing easy access to major areas and making it highly convenient for sightseeing or returning home. From the airport, you can take a bus or a shared cab to Toyama Station, from where you can easily travel to Ishikawa, Niigata, Nagano, and other Shinetsu and Hokuriku prefectures via the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line. The WiFiBOX will be available not only to meet the needs of domestic travelers who are in need of a gigabit for sightseeing, returning home, business, and at the end of the month, but also to meet the needs of inbound foreign travelers as well as Japanese who connect to Haneda Airport and New Chitose Airport for overseas travel. The WiFi box will be installed in order to meet the needs of a greater number of inbound foreign tourists.
