We are pleased to announce that "WiFiBOX," a self-contained Wi-Fi rental service that allows customers to easily rent a mobile Wi-Fi router using a contactless connection, will begin service at the newly opened "NewDays Gransta Yaesu Underground South" on August 3, 2023 (Thursday), from 10:00 on the same day.
This is the third WiFiBOX to be installed in JR Tokyo Station, following "NewDays Yaesu Central Gate" and "NewDays Gransta Yaesu North Exit", and the second location where customers can receive and return WiFiBOXes outside the ticket gates of Tokyo Station. This brings the total number of WiFiBOXes installed to 32 locations at 26 facilities.

Background
Since the first WiFiBOX was installed in a station, NewDays Yaesu Chuo ticket gate on the 1st floor of JR Tokyo Station in December 2022, the service has been well received by many customers. In July 2023, NewDays Gransta Yaesu North Gate began offering the service in response to a certain number of customers who wanted to pick up and return items outside of station ticket gates.
NewDays Gransta Yaesu Underground South, which will open on August 3, 2023 (Thursday), is also located outside the station's ticket gates, and will be the first WiFiBOX to be installed in an underground store within Tokyo Station. This makes it possible to pick up and return WiFi at a location with high accessibility for those who use the Yaetica (Yaesu Underground Mall) and Tokyo Station Ichibangai adjacent to the store, and those who use not only the Shinkansen and JR lines but also the subway and bus terminal Tokyo Yaesu to get to and from Tokyo Station. The Yaesu Exit is also available for pick-up and return. The new location will also increase the number of options for those who wish to pick up and return items at the Yaesu Exit, which we believe will lead to further improvement of convenience.
