Winner of the 2022 Good Design Award for its unprecedented overseas Wi-Fi rental "WiFiBOX"
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuji Yoshitake), a global provider of cross-border mobile communication solutions, announces that it will install a new "WiFiBOX" in the 1st floor arrival lobby of the international passenger terminal building at Fukuoka Airport starting Thursday, December 15. The "WiFiBOX" will be installed in the arrival lobby on the 1st floor of the International Terminal Building at Fukuoka Airport.
WiFiBOX is a new overseas Wi-Fi rental service released on April 1, 2022. It is the world's first automatic mobile Wi-Fi router rental service that allows unattended pickup and return of the router, with rentals starting at an overwhelmingly industry-low 300 yen (price including tax) and unlimited plans available not only in Japan but also in approximately 130 countries and regions worldwide, the most in the industry. The terminal contains a cable for charging, and the mobile battery and Wi-Fi functionality are combined in one unit for convenience that eliminates the need for extra luggage. In addition, the service design, which has a multifaceted combined effect, was highly evaluated and received the Good Design Award for 2022.
The service has been available at Narita, Haneda, and Kansai International Airports since its launch, and is now being rolled out nationwide, starting with major domestic airports such as Central Japan International Airport, in anticipation of the resumption of full-scale international traffic. The service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15. We will continue to actively promote installation at airports and train stations in Japan to further improve customer convenience.
