A self-service Wi-Fi rental ``WiFiBOX'' will be installed at Yumeshima Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line, which will be the closest station to the Osaka Kansai Expo venue, which will open on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Installation background
Prior to the opening of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, Osaka Metro Yumeshima Station, the station closest to the venue, will open on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Yumeshima Station is approximately 30 minutes away by train from Umeda Station, and it is recommended to use public transportation such as trains and buses to access the Expo venue, so Yumeshima Station is the destination for the majority of domestic and international visitors. It is attracting attention as a station used by visitors.
This year's Expo will be the first international exposition to fully adopt cashless payments. Furthermore, since the venue is vast at approximately 155 hectares (the size of 33 Tokyo Domes), visitors are worried about the communication environment when using electronic money and code payments, and concerns about whether the battery will last all day. Demand for charging environment preparation is expected to be high.
Now, we have decided to install ``WiFiBOX'', which combines a stable communication environment and functions as a mobile battery, at Osaka Metro ``Yumeshima Station'' and begin service.
"WiFiBOX" supports six languages including English, so foreign tourists visiting the Expo can use it smoothly without worrying about language, and can make reservations and pick up on the spot. Therefore, even visitors and tourists who are unable to make preparations in advance can make arrangements on the spot. We will continue to vigorously promote the introduction of these devices throughout the city, including at nearby stations, as easy-to-rent and return locations, and strive to improve convenience for all customers.
