Self-service Wi-Fi rental "WiFiBOX", which allows you to easily rent mobile Wi-Fi routers without contact, will be installed at 18 "BECK'S COFFEE SHOP" stores in JR East stations, and will be available from August 5, 2024. We have started.
This is the second time that the system has been installed at BECK'S COFFEE SHOPs, which operate inside JR East stations (ekinaka) and around stations, after first introducing it at 10 stores in April of this year (2024). Due to the favorable reception, we have decided to expand the installation to 18 stores (total number of stores installed: 28 stores).

Installation background
"BECK'S COFFEE SHOP" is an "Ekinaka Cafe" that offers seasonal menus and carefully selected coffee. Since the stores are located in and around JR East stations, they are often used by people commuting to work or school, or before and after heading to their destination. Some stores have free Wi-Fi installed inside the store, but we anticipated that customers would want to use Wi-Fi before entering the store and after leaving the store, so we decided to install a "WiFi BOX". Suggestion. We have seen the effect of mutual customer referrals through the installation, with customers using WiFiBOX increasing their chances of purchasing coffee and other items and visiting the store. We have decided to expand the installation to 18 stores including "Metropolitan Exit" in the Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa areas. In addition, "WiFiBOX" is used by foreign tourists visiting Japan, which is expected to increase (it supports 6 languages including English and Korean), and it provides a "stable communication environment" for "homecomings (travel destinations) where there is no Wi-Fi". We can also meet the needs of customers who desire. We will continue to vigorously promote the introduction of these facilities throughout the city, including at nearby stations (ekinaka cafes), as easy-to-rent and return locations, and strive to improve convenience for all customers.
